Lee Anne Barbara MA Ed, MA, LAC
Mental Health Counselor, School-Based Program Coordinator
My name is Lee Anne Barbara, and I am a mental health clinician at Desert Senita Community Health Center. My training includes the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of mental health conditions, such as a depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance abuse through individual, family, and group therapy. At Desert Senita Community Health Center, we work closely with our patients and their entire care team to ensure that our patients receive the absolute best care possible.
Just like the many other awesome health care providers and clinicians at Desert Senita Community Health Center, my training is extensive. I personally have four years of experience in healthcare and twenty plus years of experience in education, including early childhood education. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Spanish at Campbell University, Master of Arts in Education at the University of Phoenix and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. My experience includes many years in very diverse practice settings, both as a mental health clinician and as a classroom teacher. My professional interests include the treatment of conditions related to psychological trauma.
In my spare time, I am an avid reader and enjoy scrapbooking and hand-lettering art.
I joined Desert Senita Community Health Center, because I found that during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, helping children involved much more than classroom teaching. The disruptions to their daily lives and the trauma associated with loss of access to their communities and friend groups required specialized training. I sought that training and have been working in school-based mental health programs ever since.
