Desert Senita board of directors rift goes to court hearing next month

AJO — Former Desert Senita Community Health Center board members say they were wrongfully removed during a meeting a year ago, whereas other officials at the clinic, including its CEO, contest the accuracy of that claim in Pima County Superior Court filings. The parties will meet in court on March 4 and 5.

The dispute, according to the amended complaint filed in Pima County Superior Court in April of 2024, stems from a prior Feb. 28 board meeting in which five board members claim they were wrongfully removed, citing infractions to the clinic’s bylaws. In another court filing responding to the amended complaint, defendants say the people were removed legitimately as they had no cause to be there in the first place.
