My name is Dr. Boriana Nikolova, and I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner in the United States and a medical doctor in Bulgaria. Much like a family physician, a family nurse practitioner is a primary care medical provider with extensive training in the diagnosis and primary care treatment of all types of health conditions and injuries seen.  

I personally have 30 years of experience in healthcare. I graduated from Medical School in my home country of Bulgaria and completed four years of residency and fellowship in medicine, practicing for two years as a medical doctor in Bulgaria before moving to the United States. In the U.S. I completed both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Arizona. I completed post-master’s training as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Northern Arizona University.  

My experience includes many years in very diverse practice setting, including primary care, emergency medicine, trauma, obstetrics and gynecology.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and learning about new places, cultures, and traditions. 

I joined Desert Senita Community Health Center because my purpose in life is to help people by using my unique knowledge and skills as a medical provider. Wellness and patient-centered holistic care is very important to me.
